Diversity, equity and inclusion statement 

IN SITU is the European platform for artistic creation in public space. We pledge to make public space a place where all people can be heard, seen, respected, and welcome.

IN SITU is committed to fostering equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility for all of its stakeholders, including artists and audiences, partners and coordination team members. 

Our belief is that art in public spaces is made more accessible, more relevant, and more creative by amplifying the diversity of voices heard.

It is our responsibility to increase the diversity of voices present in our network and its activities, to maintain an awareness of who is not present, to identify barriers , and ways to reduce them. 

Our role is to work for change in our network, our sector and society. 

We acknowledge our power and commit to use it, with recognition of its limitations, into making an active effort to include and support those who are marginalised due to their background, characteristics or preferences, or the intersection of any of these.

This is informed by taking steps to understand people’s needs and applies in every aspect of our activities, including decision-making, project-design, programming and communications. 

To do so, the network commits to dedicate time and space to asking questions, listening to feedback, holding space for discomfort, learning from its mistakes and exploring ways of improving in cooperation with those who are most impacted.

We acknowledge that we need to do more to live up to this commitment

We commit to take actions in reference to this statement and to report on these actions on an annual basis.

IN SITU는 공공공간 예술 창작을 위한 유럽 플랫폼이다. 우리는 공공공간이 모든 사람이 목소리를 낼 수 있고, 보이고, 존중받으며, 환영받는 장소가 되도록 만들 것을 약속한다.

IN SITU는 예술가와 관객, 파트너, 그리고 운영팀 구성원을 포함한 모든 이해관계자를 위해 형평성, 다양성, 포용성, 접근성을 증진하는 데 전념한다.

우리는 공공공간에서의 예술이 다양한 목소리를 확장할 때 더 접근 가능해지고, 더 적절하며, 더 창의적이 된다고 믿는다.

우리는 네트워크와 그 활동 안에 존재하는 목소리의 다양성을 확장할 책임이 있으며, 누가 부재한지에 대한 인식을 유지하고, 장벽을 식별하며, 이를 줄이기 위한 방법을 모색해야 한다.

우리의 역할은 네트워크, 예술 분야, 그리고 사회 전반에서 변화를 만들어내는 것이다.

우리는 우리의 영향력을 인식하며, 그 한계를 자각하는 동시에, 배경, 특성, 선호, 혹은 이러한 요소들의 교차성으로 인해 주변화된 이들을 포함하고 지원하기 위해 적극적으로 이를 사용할 것을 약속한다.

이는 사람들의 필요를 이해하기 위한 노력을 바탕으로 하며, 의사결정, 프로젝트 설계, 프로그램 구성, 커뮤니케이션을 포함한 모든 활동 영역에 적용된다.

이를 위해 네트워크는 질문을 던지고, 피드백에 귀 기울이며, 불편함을 감수할 수 있는 공간을 만들고, 실수로부터 배우며, 가장 큰 영향을 받는 이들과의 협력을 통해 개선의 방식을 모색하는 데 시간과 공간을 할애할 것을 약속한다.

우리는 이 약속을 충분히 실천하기 위해 더 많은 노력이 필요함을 인식한다.

우리는 이 선언문에 근거한 행동을 실천하고, 그 실행에 대해 매년 보고할 것을 약속한다.

이 선언문은 IN SITU의 모든 구성원이 공동으로 작성하고 승인하였다.
